A 22-month program wherein I learned the ins and out of game development. The first half of the degree focused on growing my general programming knowledge; data and memory management, debugging, optimizations, good coding practices, and so on. The second half focused in on specific tasks such as tool development in Visual C#, SQL database management, graphics pipelines and the Direct3D API, and much more. The culmination of our knowledge was in the final project, a 5-month team project that emulates real-world development cycles, including deadlines, bug tracking, design documentation, and version control.

Final Project: Bastion’s Fall: The Last Doomstorm
Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Versioning: Perforce
Feature/Bug tracking: Hansoft
A traditional FPS set on an abandoned colony spaceship. The player must fight their way through hordes of the “Doomstorm Collective” - a terrifying hybrid of technology and demonic races - and make their way off of the ship using a variety of specialized weapons and their suit of armor, which is powered via their own blood.

My tasks: AI design and functionality, enemy and player stats, UI functionality, options menu functionality, high score saving/loading and displays.
